The
PISTON DRIVE ™ Snare Strainer
By NICKEL DRUMWORKS INC.
| ...Incorporating
a design element akin to hydraulics, this snare strainer is quiet,
smooth, and strong and will not detune. Its patented design features
integral cylinders and pistons that provide precision movement to
+ .002". The incorporation of neoprene and polyurethane bumpers
bring its mechanics quietly to rest; while tensioning of the snares
is maintained by way of a tune locking-torque adjustment system. Having
a tensile strength of 3,700 lbs., an ANSI standard connecting link
provides precise and durable toggle mechanics. An undercarriage gives
uniformity in directional tensioning on the snare bed. And finally,
superior materials provide aesthetic appeal and strength that is unmatched.

Greg Nickel has developed a snare strainer that is the
smoothest and most secure I've ever used. It actually made my drum
sound better! A true step forward in the art of building quality
drum hardware.
Steve Smith
I
was favorably impressed with its design and execution, and would
further recommend that the strainer be seriously considered by any
drum manufacturer.

Nickel's snare throw-off mechanism is the state-of-the-art. It is
quiet, smooth and adjusts easily. And once the snare tension is
set, it doesn't change until you change it.
